Due to their structure, Spacer fabrics exhibit satisfactory performance regarding properties that are included in so-called comfort group of properties. These properties include air permeability, water vapor permeability, thermal resistance and breathability.



Moreover Spacer 3D fabrics are characterized by remarkable behavior during compression and specifically by their ability to receive and distribute pressure on their surface, in a similar way to foam structures but with better performance on comfort properties mentioned above.

In addition since Spacer fabrics are made from textile materials similar to those used for the manufacture of clothing fabrics, linens, upholstery fabrics, etc., Spacer fabrics do not show restrictions to recycling and do not contain plasticizers and other harmful substances which may possibly be present in materials such as polyurethane foams.

The Research Program

Within the framework of Operational Program «Human Resources Development, 2007-2013» and specifically Action «Program for the support of employment of research staff in enterprises», co-funded by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology/NSRF, 2S Medical-Paramedical Equipment Ltd carried out a research project with the following title “Design and Application of 3D fabric Technology to Medical Accessories and Products”.
